Occasionally I have adult rats (usually retired breeding does, or does kept for breeding and not bred from) looking for good pet homes to retire to; if you are looking specifically for adult rats, please email me on rats@coastboat.co.uk.

About rescuing at Coastboat:
Since I started keeping rats I've taken on and homed a huge range of ages and varieties, raised litters, provided retirement homes for oldies, fostered for
official rescues such as Starlight Trust and generally done the best I could to help with the huge rescue rat population.

I strongly believe that ethical breeding has as much of a place in rat welfare as rescuing does, hence my going into it; occasionally we do still take in rescue rats, although space is limited. If you have rats that you need to rehome, feel free to email me on rats@coastboat.co.uk and I will do what I can to help.

Please note
that the process for rehoming rescue rats is the same as for buying kittens - you will still need to fill out an application form and sign a contract. There is no charge for rescue rats, although you are free to donate money, food, hammocks etc. if you wish.
