A proper gallery of my breeding does and their cagemates will be here soon. Until then, here are links to a photo of each, and a brief description. More photos of everyone can be found on our Facebook page.
Sayuri and Hanako

Valhalla Hanako (Black) Hana has the biggest eyes I've ever seen on a rat, something which I'm hoping to keep in the line, and although she's very 'curvy', she's still beautiful. She's getting more feisty as she gets older! She had a litter in April 2009. Her name means 'flower girl' in Japanese.
Warrensark Polly (Mink) Polly is the Mary Poppins of rats; practically perfect in every way! She went back to Warrensark to have a litter in early 2009, but returned to me once her babies were weaned.
Milo Lyra (Spotted Downunder) Lyra was a blatant GMR from Sarah at Milo Stud, and I haven't regretted it for an instant. She unfortunately developed a headtilt when she was fairly young, but copes wonderfully with it, and lives with my group of much younger does as a sort of kindly, bimbly, chubby matriarch. She's named after the heroine in Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy.
Milo Gwen (Spotted Downunder) Gwen is the sweetest, gentlest doe I've ever had here; she's always been very calm and loving, and a good influence on her cagemates. She had a litter in November 2009, all of whom are equally sweet. A really lovely girl. She's named after a character from the game Guild Wars.
Coastboat Merrow (Ivory) Merrow is from my very first litter here at Coastboat, and has been a joy to know and raise. She's one of the silliest does I've ever met, bouncy and playful in the cage and sweet and soppy out of it. Her name is the German word for a river mermaid.
Coastboat La Bosse (Agouti Berkshire) I had decided to keep Bosse before I even knew how well she'd turn out, simply because I'd just lost one of my favourite rats of all time, Dentagnion (better known as Denty!) and one morning soon after he'd gone, I noticed that one of Mab's kittens had a little dent in her head. I immediately decided she was staying, and she is actually the nicest marked doe of her sisters! 'la bosse' is the French word for 'dent'.
Coastboat Ebb (Ivory) Ebb was going to be a mummy for me but her litter was sadly stillborn. However, she's everything I want in a Coastboateer - outgoing but cuddly, adventurous but calm when held, and obviously, gorgeous!
Caledonian Mae (Russian Dove) Mae is an absolute darling but knows how to get her own way; she's a very confident, bouncy girl and has been barging her way around the Explorer with my other younger ladies since she arrived, despite being half their size then!
Tenebrae Talini (Ivory) Talini joined me after a few months of trying to arrange transport, and eventually arrived on a day that saw the heaviest snowfall I can remember. Her name is an Inuit word for 'snow angel' and she more than lives up to it by being a beautiful, gentle girl. She had a litter in February 2010.
Coastboat Starboard (Ivory) Star is one of Talini's daughters, and equally as beautiful as her mum.
Coastboat Jib (Silvered Black) Jib is also one of Talini's daughters but much more outgoing (and naughty) than her sister, though just as pretty.
Coastboat Etta (Black Berkshire) Etta is small but incredibly naughty, much like her mother. She's named after a character from Robin Hobb's Liveship trilogy.
Alpha Centauri Mina (Golden Himalayan Dumbo) Mina is a very relaxed young lady, much calmer than most of the does who live here, and is absolutely beautiful.
